Breaking and unveiling the immigration glossary of severalty
Workshop with Se habla español (Noelia Lecue, Maria Saenz, Andrea Valencia, and Natalia Viera)
Saturday, March 24, 2018
This participatory workshop is organized by Se habla español, a collective of graduate students currently enrolled in the MA Curatorial Practice program at the School of Visual Arts. Se habla español was conceived to investigate the nature of immigrant identity and the language surrounding it in the context of US contemporary culture and media, exploring terms like Dreamers, refugees, and sanctuary cities. Developed to launch an ongoing collective project, Severalty will be comprised of three parts: a short presentation of screenings, two sets of interactive workshops, and a concluding discussion with remarks.
